Primotec’s Premiotemp
Inside Dental Technology delivers updates on digital workflows, materials, lab techniques, and innovation in dental technology through expert articles and videos.
PREMIOtemp is a new multilayered PMMA material from Primotec. This ultra esthetic temporary material combines more than five layers of color into one disc, giving the restoration the most natural look possible. With PREMIOtemp, patients no longer need to settle for a dull-looking, mono-shaded temporary.
Featuring a full range of translucency, the top of the PREMIOtemp gradient disc is lightest and very translucent (incisal). From the top down, PREMIOtemp discs gradually darken in shade, with the bottom part of the disc being the darkest (cervical). Beyond their exceptional shade esthetics, PREMIOtemp discs are composed of special acrylic resins combined with organically modified ceramics for increased translucency and superior mechanical properties. Due to PREMIOtemp’s high strength and esthetics, the material can be used to create long-term, temporary crowns and bridges, both cemented and screw-retained. Additionally, because the material is a layered PMMA, laboratory technicians can even mill their own denture teeth.
With PREMIOtemp, it is also possible for the laboratory technician to adjust the amount or degree of translucency by changing the position of the case in the blank. As such, it is possible to make the provisional as natural looking as possible depending on the needs of the case.
Beyond the material’s strength and esthetics, one of the primary benefits of working with PREMIOtemp is the ease with which a provisional can be adjusted, added to, or relined. Simply roughen the surface of the area that needs to be built up, add Primotec’s primostick light cured bonder, light cure the area, and take the corresponding shaded light cured composite and build up. It is also possible to add normal cold cure materials or heat-cured denture acrylic.
PREMIOtemp discs come in a variety of shapes for different types of milling machines and heights up to 20 mm. The material is FDA approved and available in most VITA shades. Primotec also caries monochromatic PMMA discs in all VITA shades, including bleach.
High strength is ideal for long-term temporary solutions.
Layered gradients offer true-to-life esthetics.
