The speaker lineup for the main stage at the 2019 IDT International Digital Denture Symposium is set, with a balance of dentists, dental technicians, and denturists from several countries confirmed for the September 27-28 event at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia.
Alexander Bendayan, DDS, CAGS, FICD, will give one of the two keynote presentations, joining previously announced Andrew Johnson, DDS, MDS, CDT, FACP. The rest of the general sessions will feature Jesse Flor, MBA, CDT; Lucio Lo Russo, DDS, PhD; Benjamin D. Oppenheimer, DDS; Henk-Jan van den Heuvel, CDT, Denturist; and Germen Versteeg, joining previously announced Eric Kukucka, DD, and Vincent Verderosa, MDT, CDT.
Bendayan, a native of Caracas, Venezuela, is the Clinical Director for the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics and Assistant Dean for Digital Dentistry Development and Clinical Education at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He specializes in Prosthodontics at Boston University Dental Health Center with a focus on esthetic, digital, and implant dentistry. He will present "Digital Dentures: 3D Printing Has Arrived."
Flor is a second-generation dental technician who took over his family dental laboratory in San Bernardino, California, in 2007 and focuses on processing both fixed and removable restorations by utilizing digital processes. In 2018, he presented at the first International Digital Dental Academy (IDDA) Congress in Manchester, United Kingdom, an organization of which he is a founding board member.
Van den Heuvel, CDT, Denturist, works at another family laboratory, Tandtechnisch Centrum Midden-Holland, also known as TCMLab.
Lo Russo is an Associate Professor of Oral Diseases at the School of Dentistry, University of Foggia, Italy. He is involved in basic and applied clinical research related to the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of oral diseases, particularly in the fields of oral medicine, periodontology, and operative and digital dentistry. He has published more than 140 scientific papers.
Oppenheimer is a private practitioner in Amherst, New York, and one of the leading experts in the world on mini dental implants, having authored a number of scientific journal articles on the subject. He also is the president of Foundation Milling Centre, LLC, a dental contract manufacturing firm, and heads research and development for high-tech dental products, including an yttria-zirconia line and sintered diamond abrasives.
Versteeg is a denturist and owner of DtL Mediaan, a fully digital dental laboratory and full-service dental clinic in the Netherlands. Versteeg previously worked as a denturist at Amsterdam University's department of oral surgery.
The symposium's breakout sessions and workshops will be announced soon; a total of 12 CE credits will be available in the general sessions and breakout sessions.
