Smooth Parts, Printed Quickly
Inside Dental Technology delivers updates on digital workflows, materials, lab techniques, and innovation in dental technology through expert articles and videos.
Iverson Dental Labs' management team has one clear, unified vision: Ensure consistency and quality production of dental products within all departments in the fastest possible manner without compromising quality. That philosophy made Cody Iverson, CDT, IDT's choice to discuss Kulzer's cara Print 4.0 3D printer.
Iverson says the primary benefits of the cara Print 4.0 are speed and the smoothness of the printed product. "For models and dies, you can rest assured that when you have a smooth surface, you are getting something more true to the scan and the STL output," Iverson says. This accuracy has allowed Iverson's laboratory to utilize printing for new applications, such as patterns for pressing and casting. Iverson also uses a number of Kulzer's dima Print materials, including dima Print Cast ruby, dima Print Stone, and more. He is particularly looking forward to the next generation of cara Print 3D printers, which is expected to feature a 46% larger build plate. "That is very exciting," Iverson says.
