Several years ago, I received a phone call from two friends and colleagues. On this call, they expressed their interest in finding someone to take on the editor-in-chief role for the Inside Dental Technology (IDT) magazine. As they were describing the responsibilities that the position would entail, I began considering who I might recommend for the position. As I was contemplating who I might suggest, the question came: “Would you like to be the editor of IDT?” Without hesitation, I proudly accepted the role, eager to work with this esteemed group.
Since that time, needless to say, the years that followed have been quite rewarding for me in many ways. I remain grateful to co-founders Pam Johnson and Valerie Berger for entrusting me with this role. I am also grateful for the mentorship that they have provided, consistently encouraging me as a writer and contributor, and for awarding me the opportunity to be a part of the pulse of our profession in ways I may not have anticipated at the start. At this time, I would also like to thank and commend Jason Mazda; Daniel Alter, MSc, MDT, CDT; and the entire Aegis team for their role in the success of this project over the past several years.
Now several years later, with some regret, the time has come for me to move on. Accepting that my attention is now needed on several future projects, it remains very difficult to say goodbye to IDT and the current team that has always been my pleasure to work alongside. Perhaps the hardest part of all is saying good-bye to our readers: the emails, notes, and support from all of you over the years have been the most rewarding part of this journey. I hope that I have offered some amusing insights in my editorials, and as for the editorial content of the publication as a whole, I cannot thank the board and all the contributors enough for all the knowledge you all have shared. I hope to hear from all of you in the future and that you will continue to follow me through my lectures, webinars, courses, and future projects. I would also like to extend a warm thank you to Lisa Astor and Noah Levine for all their hard work and support, and again, to our readers who have touched my heart in many ways. With love and respect to you all.
