AMD Lasers, Inc. (AMD) is introducing several key developments in clinical technology and services at the Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting, February 19-21: the debut of the Monet+™ laser curing light, the launch of AMD Lab Group, and revised pricing and warranty terms for the Acuity® Direct X-ray Photon Detection (DXPD™) intraoral sensor line.
Together, these announcements reflect the company’s continued focus on advancing clinical efficiency, predictability, and long-term value in dental practice settings.
Monet+™ Laser Curing Light
Monet+™ is being formally introduced as an advancement in laser-based curing technology. The device features a 12-mm uniform hexagonal beam profile, 1-second curing capability, and updated ergonomics designed to support clinical workflow integration.
According to AMD, conventional LED curing lights may experience intensity reduction as working distance increases. The Monet+ system is engineered to maintain consistent energy delivery across varying curing distances, supporting polymerization at the base of restorations and in deeper preparations. The technology is intended to promote curing consistency and reduce chair time during restorative procedures.
Launch of AMD Lab Group
AMD has also announced the formation of AMD Lab Group, a dental laboratory service offering zirconia-based restorations. The service includes single-unit crowns, two-unit crowns, and three-unit bridges at launch.
Clinicians submit digital scans through an online portal, with cases fabricated by certified dental technicians. The company reports that the service includes a lifetime warranty on restorations and standardized pricing per unit. The initiative is positioned as an effort to simplify restorative workflows and provide predictable turnaround and support.
Acuity® DXPD™ Intraoral Sensors: Updated Pricing and Warranty
AMD has introduced revised pricing and a lifetime warranty option for its Acuity® DXPD™ intraoral sensors. The DXPD technology utilizes direct X-ray photon detection, designed to reduce photon loss and allow for a thinner sensor profile compared with traditional CMOS-based sensors.
The sensors are available in Size 1 and Size 1.5 configurations. The updated lifetime warranty includes two complete sensor replacements over the life of the product. AMD states that these changes are intended to address cost-of-ownership considerations and reduce long-term replacement concerns associated with digital imaging systems.
Strategic Direction
“Chicago Midwinter is the ideal stage for introducing new solutions from AMD as we begin 2026,” said Dr. Densen Cao, CEO of AMD, “We are moving beyond individual products and focusing on understanding the challenges dental professionals face, inventing new solutions, and delivering high-quality technologies that create real clinical impact.”
The company indicated that these initiatives reflect its broader strategic direction for 2026 and ongoing efforts in oral health technology development.
