Delta Dental has released its 2025 Community Impact Report, detailing $131 million in community investments aimed at expanding access to oral healthcare, supporting workforce development, and advancing integrated approaches to oral and overall healthcare delivery.
According to the report, the investments reached more than 24 million people across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico during 2025. The organization's efforts focused on increasing access to preventive and routine dental services, strengthening the oral health workforce, and supporting care models that connect oral health with broader healthcare systems.
The report notes that Delta Dental's community investments over the past 16 years have exceeded $2.4 billion.
"Investing in healthier communities is central to our mission. In 2025, Delta Dental invested more than $131 million to expand access to care, strengthen the oral health workforce, and advance more connected, whole-person care," said James. W. Hutchison, President and CEO of Delta Dental Plans Association. "These investments are helping bring care closer to communities, integrate oral and overall health, and build a more effective system of care that reaches people at every stage of life."
Populations Reached
The report highlights support for populations that may face barriers to accessing oral healthcare:
- More than 10 million children and adolescents
- More than 73,000 older adults
- More than 67,000 individuals with disabilities
- More than 36,000 veterans
- More than 13 million individuals within the general population
Investment Areas
Key areas of investment in 2025 included:
- More than $66 million directed toward preventive and routine oral health services
- More than $38 million invested in capital improvements at clinics, colleges, and universities to support care delivery and training infrastructure
- Nearly $23 million dedicated to workforce initiatives, including scholarships, training programs, loan repayment efforts, and career pathway development
- More than 38,000 employee volunteer hours contributed to community-based initiatives
Community Oral Health Activities
The report also cites:
- Nearly 1.5 million free or low-cost dental screenings and examinations provided
- One million oral health kits distributed to support preventive care and oral hygiene education
In addition to national findings, the report includes state-level data and examples of local partnerships focused on prevention, treatment, workforce development, and oral health education.
