BioHorizons has launched the Pro Zygoma implant, a new addition to the company’s remote anchorage portfolio designed for immediate placement in advanced full-arch procedures. According to the company, the zygomatic implant is intended for use in severely resorbed maxillae.
According to BioHorizons, zygomatic procedures performed without grafting can help clinicians reduce chair time and support quicker recovery. The company said the Pro Zygoma system was developed to provide a predictable and reliable option for remote anchorage cases.
The implant portfolio includes two implant diameters intended to help clinicians achieve primary stability. According to the company, the system also features a single prosthetic platform with a deep conical connection; a multi-unit abutment portfolio with angles ranging from 17 to 60 degrees to accommodate varying anatomical needs; implant material designed for demanding cases involving high force; advanced cutting flutes intended to distribute force during insertion; and a surgical kit designed to support remote anchorage procedures.
“We are excited to add the Pro Zygoma implant to our robust portfolio of predictable, reliable implant solutions,” said Steve Boggan, president and CEO of BioHorizons. “This product launch allows us to offer more solutions to our customers, giving them a new, versatile option for providing life-changing treatment in dense zygomatic bone. And with Vulcan Custom Dental, we provide clinicians comprehensive support from treatment planning to restoration.”
According to the company, the launch will be supported by education focused on zygomatic implant procedures. BioHorizons said customers will also have access to support through its Customer Care team and territory managers.
“Our goal for the Pro Zygoma system was to combine our clinically proven technologies with precision engineering to address the surgical demands of remote anchorage and advanced full-arch rehabilitation,” said John Bellanca, senior director of product and technology development for BioHorizons. “By leveraging a robust implant material, innovative body design and a deep conical connection, we’ve developed a solution that delivers exceptional stability, optimized load distribution and clinical success.”
