At Prosthetic Studio, we are committed to providing our clinical partners with the latest innovations in restorative implant technology that supports long-term outcomes for their patients. For this reason, we were looking for a strong hybrid solution that we could further customize.
We found exactly that when we incorporated the use of the Atlantis CustomBase solution, which provides the flexibility necessary to build a proper foundation for screw-retained restorations. Different options allow the technician to optimally fit an existing workflow, yet provide the same level of customization and regulatory compliance regardless of which option is chosen. The solution is available for single-tooth, screw-retained restorations and consists of a retentive abutment surface and built-in anti-rotational features created by the patented Virtual Atlantis Design (VAD) software.
Added flexibility in the material options that can be used with it—including zirconia, lithium disilicate, or metal—is just one aspect that simplifies workflow. The ability to adjust the core height allows us to design a solid foundation for the restoration. Furthermore, the Atlantis CustomBase comes with a final retaining screw, whereby the screw head matches that of each specific implant manufacturer, eliminating the need for acquiring any additional drivers.
Using the Atlantis CustomBase solution, we are able to provide our clinical partners with a screw-retained, patient-specific base abutment offering the tissue support necessary to create an optimal emergence profile. It also eliminates the concerns and issues often associated with intra-oral cementation of the restoration by facilitating an extra-oral cementation procedure.
In our experience, we have found that patient-specific Atlantis solutions are more predictable, precise, and efficient than traditional waxing and casting techniques. Regardless of which Atlantis restoration option is incorporated, the streamlined workflow and comprehensive warranty1 provide peace of mind, as well as confidence in the end result.
