Marketing takes on varying levels of importance for each business, and while a variety of factors can contribute to that determination, an IDT reader survey indicates a general tipping point may be around the 10-employee mark. More than 85% of laboratories with 10 or fewer employees said they do not employ a marketing and/or social media specialist in any capacity, but approximately 72% of those with more than 10 employees said they at least make those tasks part of one employee's job, and 48% said they employ a full-time specialist.
